New York photographer Brianna Capozzi makes striking images—candid portraits with an air of the bizarre, which veer between showing women's bodies as vulnerable, and those that humorously marry the human body with unexpected props and products. Her muses include high-profile models (Chloë Sevigny, Hanna Gaby Odiele, Natasa Vojnovic) as well as her mother, Marie Capozzi.
Copozzi's playful approach balances the surreal and the banal — her women are assertive and sensual in equal part. Her stated goal is to portray the different facets of what it means to be a woman, and this book features photos of eight strong women: Marie, Sevigny, Odiele, Guinevere van Seenus, Okwui Okpokwasili, Nataša Vojnović, Mari Malek, and Aerial East.
